Tips on determining chanel setting wifi wireless router
This is not the real thing, especially if the user accesses WiFi only in the house or office – a small area means. But once your right left neighbor has its own wireless network then this can affect the speed of internet access & the quality of the signal due to interference. And if you look at the settings of your modem or WiFi router there is an option for a channel of course there is a point, right?
WiFi networks are active at a frequency of 2.4 GHz with a width of 100 Mhz, and this standard is divided into 11 channels (there are routers that divide it as 14 & this is not supported by all devices even though it is able to detect it). In short, the best WLAN channels you can use are 1, 6 and 11. Do not be allowed Automatic because sometimes problematic, between undetectable SSID hotspot or able to connect but can not be online.
Why? Because the three channels do not overwrite each other frequency, so it is conducive to use & guarantee the quality of the signal because it does not conflict using other WiFi routers that operate in the same frequency or next to each other.
Confused? Don’t worry, I initially failed to understand. 😀 For example we use channel 6 & neighbors using channel 7, from the hotspot channel graph above will it look overlapping the signal? Well… This is not necessarily the answer, because actually when we determine it is actually the one in the middle of the group.
This means, if we use channel 6 then -two (channel 4 & five) and +2 (channel 7 & 8) can be used automatically. And this is what was meant earlier when 1, 6 & 11 do not conflict with frequency because 1 aporisma to 3 and 11 to 9, while 6 from 4 to 8. Okay, right?
In other cases, it turns out that you and some of your neighbors use the same canal, all three of them. What’s next? It is still advisable to use the recommended channel because if your router also recognizes there are other hotspots whose operational frequency is the same will use anti-friction technology (CSMA / CA = Collision Avoidance). Or alternatively, the signal strength (Transmit/ Signal Power) is lowered as low as possible but still able to be used normally in your place.
Do I have to use the canals above? Not really, just as a recommendation – because the frequency is more freely as a result of interference (interference) mini signal occurs. More thoroughly if you analyze your WiFi using implementation such as inSSIDer or WiFi Analyzer.
